RE should help children understand and respect the world around them
When RE is taught well, children don’t just learn facts about different religions. They develop a genuine understanding of what people believe, why those beliefs matter and how faith shapes the way people live. That’s a profound kind of learning that prepares children for life in a diverse society. But RE is one of the hardest subjects to teach well. Many teachers feel anxious about handling sensitive topics, representing faiths they don’t personally practise or navigating the expectations of different local frameworks. That’s why we built a carefully sequenced RE curriculum that gives every teacher the knowledge, confidence and resources they need to teach RE with sensitivity and depth, whatever their background or experience, with a religious education curriculum that handles the complexity of the subject for them.

Our RE curriculum covers six world religions — Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism — with equal care and depth.
