In this project children become historians as they explore the great and ancient kingdoms of Africa, focusing on the Kingdom of Benin. They’ll investigate the Benin Bronzes to discover what they reveal about Benin’s artistry, beliefs and power, and compare life in Benin with medieval Britain. Children will also learn how Benin became part of the British Empire and why its history remains significant today.
